Our founder, Kojiro Murakami, recognized the potential of Japan’s chemical industry and, after dyes and industrial chemicals, chose chemical fertilizers as the next business focus.
Fertilizer sales began in 1915, and pesticide sales followed in 1929. In a country where only 15% of the land is arable, we sought ways to maximize harvests through intensive cultivation methods.
Fertilizers and pesticides play complementary roles: fertilizers enrich the soil and supply crops with essential nutrients for growth and yield, while pesticides protect against the diseases and pests that threaten to reduce harvests.
By providing farmers with accurate knowledge, we help them pursue agriculture with hope and confidence, free from uncertainty about the future. This empowers them to deliver safe, reliable crops ── and together, we share a vision of agriculture that continues to thrive and evolve.
